The idea behind the company first started when co-founders Chang Xi and Vanessa went to Denmark on a student exchange programme during their university days. They observed Danish seniors embracing ageing and living life to the fullest, while not being limited by mobility challenges.
Upon returning to their own elderly grandparents, they wondered – why not bring home this positive, independent culture surrounding the golden years?
In 2011, The Golden Concepts was set up in Singapore. Initially run from a home office, the company soon outgrew the space, and made Crocodile House its new home ably supported by a passionate team.
